John Keller, born and raised in the panhandle of Nebraska, has made his home in Arkansas since 1978, teaching at Harding University where he served as Chair of the Department of Art & Design from 2000 till 2014. He earned his AA degree from York College and the BA in Art from Harding University in 1971. He taught public school art in Henderson, Nebraska, from 1972 till 1978. John earned the MA and PhD from the University of Nebraska, both in Art Education, with a parallel concentration in studio art. He works primarily in watercolor, but also in oils and photography. His subjects include landscape, structures, flora, fauna, studies in light and shadow, and the effects of time on the natural and manmade environment. John is a signature member of Mid-Southern Watercolorists. His art is inspired by all all things around him, including images captured during his travel in the United States, Europe and the Middle East, having taught on Harding University's International Program campuses numerous times.
